Let's say Shale receives the following marks in the category of “Writes clearly and effectively:  content, organization, and style” (let's assume all assignments were assessed expertly and given the same weight);

Shale’s mean score would be 76.4

The user may instead choose to calculate the grade based upon the mode, median, or most recent score.
